Denver Law Firm Marketing: Firms are Hiring

Friday, 19 February 2010 22:00 by FrankSalvatore

While the recession in Denver may officially be over, the economy isn't exactly taking off. Unemployment is expected to remain high, or perhaps even get worse before it gets better. One of the few areas that I could find where job growth is anticipated is law firms. In a recent Denver Business Journal article, "Law Firms Expected to Start Hiring", it is mentioned that law firms are bucking this contraction trend.

Although it is commonly thought that lawsuits (and therefore work for attorneys) increases during recessionary periods, this apparently has little effect on staffing. According to the Denver Business Journal article, 2009 was a horrible year for legal industry layoffs. Major law firms laid off more than 12,000 people in 2009 - making it one of the worst years ever for legal industry layoffs.

How Does this Help Me Market My Denver Small Business?

If you're a Denver small business who counts legal professionals as your clients, this could be good news. With the hiring of more attorneys after such a bad 2009, many law firms will likely be looking for assistance to find and support their new employees. You may wish to ramp up your marketing efforts to Denver metro law firms as many will be expanding their in house staff.
